MG TF LE 500 |
Conceived in China, assembled in England - a sign of things to come? - the new MG TF LE500 has hit the forecourts of garages across the UK.
How quickly the dealers will usher them off the forecourts and onto the roads in these dire economic times is another matter, although a number of wise dealers such as this one are using the wide reach of eBay to promote the LE500's availability at their dealerships.
Showing a picture of the new model to an MG enthusiast is akin to a psychological inkblot test. Looking at the LE 500, some will inevitably see dated technology with a honeycomb mesh grille slapped on.
The more optimistic amongst us will see the welcome rebirth of the MG thanks to an unlikely saviour: Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC). It's thanks to them that you can once more visit your local car dealer and drive away with a brand new MG assembled in central England. This is something to be celebrated, and I for one look forward to seeing what new developments will carry the prestigious MG badge in the near future.
